Frederick Douglass (February 14, 1818 – February 20, 1895) was an American abolitionist, women’s suffragist, editor, orator, author, statesman and reformer. Douglass is one of the most prominent figures in African-American history and United States history. In 1872, Douglass became the very first African-American nominated as a Vice Presidential candidate in the U.S., running on the Equal Rights Party ticket.

This tile was created by hand using an ink transfer technique. The image and words are designed then transferred onto a 4″ x 4″ x 1/2″ Botticino marble tile. Cork backing has been added to protect table or desk surface. This tile can be used as piece of wall art or simply placed on a desktop.
